RIMS: The Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) is the premier organization dedicated to advancing the practice or risk management, a professional discipline whose practitioners protect corporate assets through risk assessment, mitigation, and transfer. RIMS promotes the interests of member companies that employ professional risk managers.
The NJ Chapter: The New Jersey Chapter is the local affiliate of RIMS with over 100 corporate members, and more than 200 individual deputies, generally from the risk management departments of members companies. Our Chapter has been in existence since the 1960’s when it was formed by a group of New Jersey-based insurance managers, not long after the formation of RIMS in 1950.
Our Members: Membership in New Jersey RIMS includes a diverse group of large and medium sized corporations based in New Jersey, such as manufacturing, service, financial, real estate and educational and health care institutions. In addition to corporate membership, nearly 100 individuals from interested firms have joined New Jersey RIMS as Associate members. These include representatives of insurers and insurance brokers, claims administrators, loss prevention consultants, law firms, and many other firms who are interested in supporting the risk management community.
